- Antique Venetian millefiori trade beads two styles of murrine spiral around these two beads 30x12mm and 28x12mm
- One of the mosaics is a green chevron pattern, the other purely floral the fact that they wind around the bead gives an even more varied look, like a blooming garden
- It would have taken special effort to create that effect. The normal procedure is to roll the bead core over rows of semi-molten cane slices. Who thought of arranging the rows diagonally, or rolling the core diagonally over rows of alternating pattern murrine? I like to image the artists at work. What would inspire them...
- Made in Venice, Italy for the African trade mid- to late 1800s
