The other bone necklaces I made this month are essentially monochromatic (variations on a single hue). In this one, darker bronws harmonize with the warm beige bone beads while turquoise give just a hint of contrasting color "spice".
I often work this way, starting with a monochromatic design and gradually layering in more and more colors.
Split Complements may be my favorites. In this form of color harmony a color is complemented with the two colors on either side of it's direct opposite on the color wheel.
