- Nepalese brass bicones inlaid with chips of turquoise and red glass to simulate coral. One long bicone 32x13mm and two short ones 16x9mm
- This technique has long been practiced in the Himalayan regions.
- Just as in other parts of the world, including the US Southwest, coral and turquoise seem to be universally paired in the Himalayas.
- Turquoise is native to the area, but coral had to be imported and thus was much more expensive.
- The fact that red glass is substituted, far from being a negative, is considered preferable by all who want to protect endangered corals.
