Picture Jasper is a mostly brown, beige (and rarely grey-blue) stone, made magical by its remarkable banding and patterns that resemble landscapes reminiscent of the eastern Oregon desert areas where it has been found. Created by petrified layers of mud and plant materials, the resulting “images” that appear when the stone is sliced, can also resemble delicate Chinese calligraphic landscape paintings.
Metaphysical qualities include facilitating a connection to the earth and Goddess energies, supporting meditation, dream work and visions. Some also use it for divination.
