Large blue powderglass bead with two white equatorial stripes
Made in Ghana. Vintage 1970s, 32x24mm with hole about 3mm
Powderglass beadmaking resembles, and may be derived from, faience beadmaking that was practiced in ancient Egypt and Persia. It involves layering different colors of pulverized glass into a clay mold and heating the beads until the glass fuses, but doesn't completely liquify.
