- This Rene Roberts bead was made in the late 1990s toward the end of her Pebble Series when she started giving the beads more regular shapes. 38x22x12mm
- She creates her colors by applying thin films of copper, silver, iron or gold to the hot glass. I've never forgotten her large, immaculate studio, and artist's dream!
- Unique among beadmakers, she left her work as a criminal trial lawyer "like going to war every day" to immerse herself in the mysteries of glass. Starting with stained glass, she moved on to beads, winning international recognition for her use of color and her unique techniques.
- Her passion for experimentation and with "high tolerance for methodical time consuming processes" she developed the use of metal leaf to create her etherial color palettes. "My minor in chemistry from UCLA finally became useful!"
