Description

  • Serpentine donut, 65mm diameter.
  • Light beige with dark brown veining on one side (shown in the photo), and dark beige with dark brown veining on the other side.
  • Donuts make quick and easy pendants, or put them on one side for an asymmetrical necklace design using seed beads around the donut on two sides creating a link.
  • Only one available
  • Bi were considered to be symbols of heaven
  • Serpentine is a usually greenish mineral, but can also be brown or beige with yellow. It can be confused with Jade and is often used as a substitute, and called “Korean Jade,” which seems to be a catch-all name for a whole range of non-Jade Asian stones.
  • Named for snakeskin, Serpentine has been found and used for jewelry in many parts of the world throughout the ages.
  • From the collection of Joyce Diamanti, bead writer, editor and educator.
