Description
- These beads are priced and sold as a set of 10 beads
- The original beads favored by the Sherpa people of Nepal and Tibet were made of real red coral, but these became rare and very expensive as it was over-harvested in the Mediterranean.
- By 1700 the Chinese coral imitations in lampworked wound glass from Boshan began arriving. By the mid-1800s European bead makers, especially the Czech entrepreneurs joined the party.
- The former produced wound beads, while the latter specialized in moulded and Prosser beads.
- This strand contains a mix: The peachy short cylinders are molded, the rest are most likely of Chinese origin. Among these the color ranges from a true orange through red-orange to true red.
