- Heishi, originating in the American southwest pueblos, especially Santo Domingo, is one of the oldest forms of beads in North America. This strand is very smooth and even to the touch - much more so than it appears in the greatly magnified image!
- The natural stone a beautiful light to medium blue color with bits of brown matrix.
- Turquoise gets its blue color from copper and its green from iron
